Given the opportunity, most abstract artists love painting large scale pieces. At 6' x 4', this piece is impressive both in size and in the impression it makes in a room. Even with all the detail, it's still quite balanced in composition and feel. At first glance I get a strong sense of the dark lines found in much of Max Beckmann's work. While our subject matter is quite different, there's an obvious (but unintentional) connection.
In applying the acrylics, pigments and oil sticks, I used various sizes of brushes, rollers and rags to apply the lines and marks. I wanted there to be distinct differences from line to line. Note this painting differs from Untitled Grayscale #2 in that it is bolder, presenting a stronger, much more dramatic statement.
Note that I entertain all offers. I'm more interested that people can afford my work and enjoy it, rather than seeing how much money I can make on a painting.
As this is a large artwork, shipping cost will be determined a the time of sale. I do not mark up shipping fees.
