Another autumn color study combined with marks of smeared charcoal and graphite. The two work together to bring a dramatic combination of color and emotion. As with the previous two in this small series, my primary goal is simply beauty. Studying the work closely as I painted, color alone wasn't enough to make the impact I desired, thus the black emphasis where necessary to enhance the piece. Note the background texture on this piece, as I wanted an additional feature on this one, compared to the previous two.
