For the love of red and its cousins orange, pink and magenta, The Block Across the Street is a city-scape in a sea of red. There's fire, there's ash, there are windows, doors and buildings. Yes, there is constant drama in the city. Here in St. Louis we have our problems, but overall, what we have is a pretty cool place to live. This painting doesn't speak to any social context or anything with respect to rights, wrongs, poverty or race. This piece is a color study of my world. So why red?
