Separation in Blue and Gray

A painting that started its life as a work in grayscale.  But after working on it a couple days, I was compelled to add blue and variations of blue, and I love how it turned out!  The bulk of this was created using paint on rags, hard rubber brayers and needle tipped bottles of paint applied directly and then watered down and blotted with rags. A few brush strokes were necessary, but overall, just minor stuff.  Many of my works tend to lean more towards mood, and this one is no exception.  The lines and shapes are purposely less imposing than in many of my other Raw series works, allowing them to blend into the background in a more subdued fashion.  Separation in Blue and Gray is certainly a more organic piece.  On close inspection you'll see a myriad of textures that help bring it to life.
