Red & Blue

Nostalgic for some of my earlier work, Red & Blue harkens back to a piece currently in China that I really liked, so I thought I'd paint another piece in the same vein, bringing the total to three the number of Red & Blue works in my Raw series.

Not exactly the same as its predecessors but it's close, and features the same idea, color and structure.   High contrasting red and blue on a worn white background enhanced by rough stark black outlines.  This is my Raw Series revisited.  Ideas and techniques from one series to another tend to overlap in my experience. And that applies to life and learning.  We take (or chose not to take) everything we've learned, and incorporate it into our lives.  Little things tend to stick, and this "raw" feeling still permeates a lot of my work today.  It's a serious statement-maker that is simple, border-lining on minimalist.
