The first of many in my RAW series Raw Blue #1 is a bold large scale 48" x 60" gallery wrapped piece with 1.5" white sides.
This piece is heavy body acrylic (the white) with blue acrylic spray paint applied over a still wet white background, allowing an interesting effect when scraping off and making marks. The bold black marks are not paint splatters or drips, but black paint applied then worked with spatulas and brayers. My goal when painting is purely self expression and ultimately, satisfaction. I paint because I love it. On rare occasions there is a specific idea in mind, but not here. Aesthetic, emotion and gut instinct are responsible for this outcome. And yes, it's purposefully off-centered.
