My initial focus here is the color. This is a now discontinued color called Quinacridone Azo Gold from Golden. I watered it down quite a bit and rolled in on with a brayer, which gives it a somewhat unpredictable outcome, but I've employed that method enough to have a good idea of the direction it will take when laid down. I loved the simplicity of the color on the canvas - or cradled wood in this case. And as I thought to myself what the piece was trying to convey, silence came to mind.

My choice in how to present silence was empty thought bubbles. My take on them, of course.

Apparently the conversation between the three went dead.
