In the scheme of the way things used to be (I'm 63 as of this painting), outliers were considered more of a throwaway. A point or two on a graph so far removed from the group that they were barely, or not considered whatsoever. Zoom in to where we are here in 2024. Outliers are no longer an anomaly, they've glommed onto the pack and refuse to be ignored. This piece is a representation of that; the Outlier.

Without doing any real research, I decided that outliers now represent about 50% of Americans. And here is the tricky part. Who is now considered the outlier? Is it the old guard or the new? Whack-jobs abound, that's no secret. But as our political environment continues to evolve (or devolve), where do I fit in now? Or you?

In this painting, outliers have moved so close to the curve they cannot be ignored.
