My journey is coming around to a technique I used in my Point to Point series some time back.  That series was created using brayers only, and gave an interesting geometric look to each composition.  While I never completely abandoned it, it has been a primary feature in many of my recent works. The pressure applied to the rubber brayer on application leaves a very specific mark, the exact width of each sized roller I choose to use.  They present as square or rectangle, offering an interesting structure to each piece.

Navigating the World uses that technique, but also brushes, rags and fingers to achieve my goal.  Taking a look at the closeup shots of detail and you'll see what I mean.  Interesting marks made with pigment sticks and graphite work to move your eye about the painting.  I gravitated towards a few new colors that I really love.  Payne's Gray, Zinc White and Interference Blue, along with an Iridescent Gold - all Golden heavy body acrylics - go so well together.  Blending the white and blue with the Payne's Gray make for a beautiful blend when applied using my heavy pressure rubber brayer technique on the canvas.

I get a sense of clouds and a somewhat disorganized metropolitan area, sprinkled with fall colors.  Your take is whatever you want it to be.
