My landscapes don't typically start as such.  This piece is a perfect example.  Landscape with Water began as a hard abstract with just two thick lines of smudgy black paint with a few horizontal lines scratched in between.  It sat around a month or so where I'd see it on occasion, knowing it was in dire need of something.  

As my primary focus has moved towards horizons and abstract landscapes the past year or two, this one unconsciously moved there.  Moody yet beautiful with hills, water and horizons under a white-gray sky, Landscape With Water has a feeling of isolation, depth and distance.  Think chilly fall day in the country, or more importantly, wherever works for you.

Created with wet and dry rags, wet and dry brushes, fingers, pencils, a sharp edge for scraping lines, brayers to thin and spread paint, and squirt bottles and water to achieve various effects.  This can be shipped framed as shown, or without a frame, as it has painted 1.5" white wooden sides.  Framing adds $100 to the price shown.
