Landscape, June 2026

A sense of rain and distance in a moody but powerful piece, Landscape, June 2026 features many of my usual techniques of lines, scratches, paint blotches and drama.  At four feet tall, it's pretty large painting.  The earth tones of this one work as a nice neutral original abstract for your living room or dining room setting.  

I'd haphazardly thrown down quite a bit of burnt umber acrylic paint and instinctively let my imagination take over.  Working with how it felt on the canvas, where the dramatic effect of dark vs. light would happen; wiping away some and enhancing other values.  Adding stark black to compliment the lighter shades, providing a bit of tension within the piece.  The vertical scrapes emote rain with the browns, whites and grays bringing a cloudy or stormy feel.
