One of my three primary styles again features a somewhat desolate autumn setting.  Hints of trees and plant growth from the foreground to the horizon along with a wonderfully colorful sky of blues, teals and warm tones.

I enjoy conveying a sense of open space and natural landscape, softly blending in the sky contrasts with the more textured and layered application of paint in the foreground, in an attempt to create visual interest. I typically choose this limited color palette to bring about a harmonious and cohesive feel. And of course, the lack of distinct shapes and details encourages you to interpret the scene based on your experiences and imagination.

As with other pieces I've created in this vein, capturing a feeling of a landscape rather than depicting a specific place, relying on color, texture, and composition to evoke a sense of nature and atmosphere are my goals.
