My first priority on this piece was the background and how I wanted it to flow and how to far to push the saturation of the red/orange palette. My goal with the white wash was introduce a sense of water flowing down an imaginary window. Looking through this "window" you'll take in the colors of life, its beauty, its ups and downs. Compartmentalizing various sections in black brings attention to our experiences. While they are a part of one long life, they are in fact, separate entities . . . "yesterday this happened, then this, then this, etc."
