A body of water reflects the sky in Horizon, my take on a landscape in the country.  Trees and growth where the sky meets the earth cast ghostly shadows. 

I applied quite a few layers of acrylic paint to get the right amount of depth and relief on the background so lines and crevices would show through when painted over.  Most of this piece was painted using the dry brush technique, as well as wiping on and off with rags and fingers in order to highlight the lines on the background, giving it a worn, weathered feel.
