It's interesting to me that I gravitate towards two or three specific styles that define my work. I guess all artists tend to do that. I'd painted a ton of what I referred to as organic pieces a few years back that share this style, but with more dramatic earth tones.

When not painting my usual lines and marks, I tend to move in this direction. One of a simple aesthetic of time, wear and erosion. A nice sized piece at 30" x 40", this one does make a nice statement of what I consider moody, natural beauty.

On closer examination you'll see scratches and texture. I used brushes, rags and brayers to coax just the right amount of drama in this one.
