Red is not my typical "go to" color. In fact, a quick look through my work and you'll see it's rarely used as the primary color. I worked this one to death to get the right blend of red, white and black in areas. Applying, removing, adding, subtracting. It takes a while to get paintings exactly where I want them but it's worth the effort. "Distress in red" has a feeling of wear, time and a touch of musicality with the white doodle that wants to be a clef note, but doesn't quite get there. This is a dramatic piece that will spice up any room.
