Focusing on a green palette and pushing the negative space to 2/3rds of the painting, Distant Landscape is awash in various shades of green and blue. The background was created with blues, grays and white, leaving some background elements to remain in the final iteration. Your imagination will determine whether there is water or simply a green(ish) field in the foreground. I used my bottle and brayer technique to create the illusion of trees on the horizon. Applied, then gently washed, reapplied, and again, gently washed off with one final application of "trees" to complete the piece.
Serenity is the key feeling I take away from this work, and frankly, as someone who rarely does anything recognizable as a "thing", I like this one.
It is an odd size, 24" x 29" acrylic on canvas glued to a masonite board, and will require some sort of custom frame to present properly. I've shown it with a white wood floater frame and with a black frame and white mat for a couple ideas.
It ships free in the continental US and Canada. And as with all my pieces, I happily consider all offers. Thanks for visiting!
