he painting is called "Daring to be different", for obvious reasons.
What makes us stand out in a crowd? Do we even want to? (I typically don't.) The thing is, it's hard to be different. And while some people have no choice, whether it be size or handicap, or anything else, those who choose to be different, I salute. I once told my daughter that those kids in school who go out of their way to be different in how they dress are brave. In a world where everyone wants to be liked and or accepted, being the same is one of the easier routes to take.
Those that chose the green or orange hair, the nose rings, the outrageous outfits . . . that's the hard way to go. Being your own person has its challenges, yet from where I stand, it's the only way to go and for the most part should be respected. That's what this painting is all about.
