Conquerer

As my art journey continues, it takes from past styles, techniques and attitudes.  This piece, "Conquerer" from July 29, 2026 utilizes a good deal of those.  

I didn't set out to create a conquerer, it's the name that immediately came to mind once I decided this was complete.  It might have something to do with my wife listening to The Rest Is History podcast about Cortez, I don't know.

Again a rough, raw feeling with this one, with my customary lines and shapes, as well as the scrapes and marks I've incorporated into most of my work of late.  This palette is consistent with many of my paintings this year for no real reason.  Those of you that have kept an eye on me in 2026 have seen these colors become more prevalent and I suspect they'll remain until I tire of them.
