I began Celestial with a "what if . . . " attitude. My usual Raw Series black squarish figures are obscured into the background vs. the fore. Close inspection reveals a good number of them in various sizes throughout. But the moodiness and sense of depth and space is the real star. I moved it from my easel in my studio to a main wall in my home and WOW! In situ it makes a seriously dramatic statement.

Rust, time, wear and age are the feelings I get from this one, and to date, even though it is quite different from many of my Raw series, it's my new favorite. Scale helps that along somewhat, as this is a big painting at almost 6 x 5 feet.
