I felt a serious groove as I put this one together. I worked fast, very fast in fact, throwing caution to the wind with every addition of brush stroke and line application.
Color and shape have defined my work for some time now with my line taking on a somewhat newer take the past few months. Abstract abounds on this large piece. While there was no specific goal when beginning this one I'm satisfied with it, and that's really an overarching goal most if not all artists strive for.
Upon stepping back from this piece as I suspected it was complete, CONSTRUCTION is what immediately came to mind. My second thought was simply BEAUTY. So the title says it all, as the open yellow hints that it may not be quite done (but is, of course). This is the first painting of mine in well over a year where I used only brushes to apply the color. My lining technique still requires a different method, but the bulk of this is actually brushed on, which is highly unusual for me.
This piece is on display in my living room and will remain there until it is sold.
