Balance

Hours of experimentation, exploration and thought went into the creation of Balance.  I'd created a background that I liked so much I almost kept it as is.  But me being me, I had to push it further.  Looking through my works from the past couple years, I imported an image of it into Photoshop and overlaid a number of paintings and manipulated them with various filters, shapes and sizes, until I got a number of intriguing ideas.  ** Note that I often do this in order to not "ruin" a good start. **

I settled on Balance as a name for this piece because the white lines were the final three strokes.  Stepping back and studying where it stood, the right side of my brain told me something additional was need to tie it together or balance it all out.  

As I've mentioned over the years, many of my paintings do not start out with a story or even a direction.  I allow my imagination to run as I see fit.  Obviously my mind ran like crazy on this one.
