A striking blue sky above a prairie taking on the colors of fall is the subject of this simple but beautiful landscape. A heavily layered background with a variety of relief and texture helps bring it to life. Crevices are filled with darker color as the peaks of the texture give up their color when worked with a brush and cloth. And of course, my standard black line to define the horizon with the shadow of trees in the distance.
